Lost objects, second chances, claim tickets

Tue Jun 10, 2008 at 01:09:31 AM PDT

I'm not so careful with second chances. I've had a few and I've made a mess of most of 'em. And I've lost things over the years; lost ideas from memory, faces and names of people I should recall, relationships with friends I should have maintained. I've let go of objects I've created and loved, or things I took a special hand in designing. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes through negligence, sometimes through a perverse need to purge while initially denying the emotional investment in the loss.

Two hawks flying
Above the highway
They play so much like  us.

One always runs away...

I've had this song sleeping in my head over thirty years, and I've lost the title and the artist's name.

Proof of Scientology Fraud!

Wed Aug 15, 2007 at 10:36:33 AM PDT

Two things came up recently that I feel are significant.
One, a champion boxer/cocaine addict, one Johnny Tapia, had to leave Scientology front group Second Chance due to "health issues."

The second was a letter of complaint from Scientology lawyers to Google, seeking the removal of devastating "confidential information" about their Purification Rundown.

That information is now on the web, whether Google pulls it in accordance to Scientology's request or not. We have it. It's fair use. Now you have it too.

New Mexico: Suckers for Scientology

Fri Jan 19, 2007 at 08:46:40 AM PDT

The last issue of the Wall Street Journal has a story about Scientology's front group, Second Chance, which has successfully insinuated itself into the gravy train line for public funding. Second Chance is another cookie-cutter front group that "isn't associated with Scientology," except that it uses the same courses, the same Purification Rundown, and the administrators all "happen" to be Scientologists.

Currently, inmates are being sent to the Second Chance facility by ignorant judges who know nothing of the health hazards and potential for lawsuits from inmates whose livers have been destroyed by overdoses of vitamins. Way To Go, New Mexico. P.T. Barnum was right. There really is a sucker born every minute, and some of them are legislators and judges.
