The New Westboro?

Thu Jan 25, 2007 at 07:07:39 AM PDT

At first, Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church only showed up at Gay Pride Parades with the message, "GOD HATES FAGS." They have since expanded their operations to include the funerals of AIDs patients, and more recently, military funerals.

Comes now Citizens Commission on Human Rights, a Scientology front group dedicated to "eradicating psychiatry" and all other forms of mental health assistance. This week following a murder at a high school near Boston, CCHR seems to have taken a page out of Fred Phelps' play book.

Sneaky Rehab Hides Scientology Links

This is deep. Really, really deep. Down at the bottom of a bottomless pit deep, that's how deep the connection between the New Life Center of San Francisco and Scientology are buried.

New Mexico: Suckers for Scientology

Fri Jan 19, 2007 at 08:46:40 AM PDT

The last issue of the Wall Street Journal has a story about Scientology's front group, Second Chance, which has successfully insinuated itself into the gravy train line for public funding. Second Chance is another cookie-cutter front group that "isn't associated with Scientology," except that it uses the same courses, the same Purification Rundown, and the administrators all "happen" to be Scientologists.

Currently, inmates are being sent to the Second Chance facility by ignorant judges who know nothing of the health hazards and potential for lawsuits from inmates whose livers have been destroyed by overdoses of vitamins. Way To Go, New Mexico. P.T. Barnum was right. There really is a sucker born every minute, and some of them are legislators and judges.

Purification Rundown: Scientology's Secular Scam

Tue Jan 16, 2007 at 08:08:03 AM PDT

Every year, some idiot politician gets the bright idea (with a little help from his/her "friends) to support any one of several front groups created by the cult to sell its 'Purification Rundown.' What is it? How are politicians persuaded to support it?
Here's a bit of information about the core program within Narconon, Criminon, Second Chance and the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project.

The Gates of Hell

Children in Ebocha, Nigeria are marked with an ink spot to mark them as having been vaccinated against measles and polio courtesy of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. These same children, and their parents, live in a toxic stew of fumes and chemicals spewed out by oil refineries and paper mills. Many people in this valley suffer from serious respiratory ailments due to the rampant pollution in the region. Listed as investors in these companies, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

My Son the Junkie

Fri Jan 05, 2007 at 05:22:07 PM PDT

It happens all too often. A family member gets in trouble with drugs. Concerned relatives or friends begin looking for a good rehab program. A web search results in hundreds of websites, all from the same source, Narconon. Some may associate the name with a 12 step program, like Alanon. One might also think that, with so many websites, these people really must know what they are doing. Who would ever suspect this to be a recruitment branch of the "church" of Scientology?

On Beyond Xenu

A peek under the Scientology ecclesiastical robes. What's really happening when you quit gawking at the diversions provided by Tom Cruise and Scientology's various front groups.

In which Scientology takes over an entire town in Florida.

The American "War on Religion," as real as Iraq's WMD

Fri Dec 29, 2006 at 11:15:51 AM PDT

Now that the holiday season has been relegated to the memory bin, I've had more time to read from the Internet Buffet. Christianists are demanding more than their share of most people's favorite time of year.
